AMC garners Combined Logistics Excellence Awards

REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. -- The Chief of Staff of the Army announced the winners of the Combined Logistics Excellence Awards June 20, with the U.S. Army Materiel Command garnering six awards.

The CLEA awards recognize the best logistics programs in the Army. A formal ceremony hosted by the chief of staff of the Army is set for Sept. 10 at the Pentagon.

AMC won in the Army Award for Maintenance Excellence, Deployment Excellence Award, and Supply Excellence Award categories.

Army Awards for Maintenance Excellence

- Anniston Army Depot at Anniston, Alabama (depot category)

- Army Field Support Battalion-North East Asia at Camp Carroll, Korea (large category)

- Fleet Management Expansion at Fort Sill, Oklahoma (medium category)

Deployment Excellence Award

- The Logistics Readiness Center at Fort Hood, Texas

Supply Excellence Awards

- Army Field Support Battalion-North East Asia at Camp Carroll, Korea (property book operations)

- Army Field Support Battalion-North East Asia at Camp Carroll, Korea (supply support activity)

The Combined Logistics Excellence Awards, or CLEA, are designed to recognize the best logistics programs in the Army. Judges from the U.S. Army Transportation, Quartermaster, and Ordnance Centers travel around the world to conduct on-site evaluations of units nominated by their commands and winners are selected based on outstanding qualities recognized by judges on their visits.

The announcement stated, "Your selection indicates that you are the best in the Army. This honor speaks volumes about your organization's expertise, professionalism, dedication to duty and contributions to Army readiness. This award shines the spotlight on logisticians and recognizes the critical role you play in supporting the warfighter."
